OUR SERVICES
Routine Exams
At your first visit we will discuss your medical and dental history and conduct a thorough examination, which may include x-rays. We want you to tell us how you feel about your teeth, their appearance and any concerns regarding them. We will be happy to explain any treatment required.
Dental Hygiene
Our Dental hygienists clean teeth, examine patients for signs of oral diseases such as gingivitis, and provide other preventive dental care. They also educate patients on ways to improve and maintain good oral health.
Dental Fillings
Fillings are used to repair a cavity in your tooth caused by decay. We provide traditional amalgam fillings and composite (tooth-coloured) fillings which are made of a resin and glass mixture. glass ionomer (tooth-coloured) – powdered glass, which forms a chemical bond with your tooth and may release fluoride that helps to prevent further decay.
Dentures, Bridges, Crowns & Veneers
Dentures, bridges, crowns and veneers are appearance enhancing treatments. Each provide a unique solution that restores your teeth to a natural looking condition. Missing teeth can significantly alter your lifestyle and confidence. Dentures and bridges provide you an option for total or partial tooth loss.
Emergency Dentistry
Whether you’re a new or existing patient, we provide an in-hours emergency service. If you need emergency treatment, we ask you to contact us by telephone at 8.30 am, or as early in the day as possible. We provide allocated emergency appointment times each day; however, occasionally we may need to fit you in between patients who already have appointments. This may mean that you need to wait. Please also note that it may not always be possible to see your regular dentist, depending on their working hours.
Facial Aesthetics
To help iron out those smile lines we are able to offer a range of therapies at all of our practices.
Teeth Whitening
To enhance your youthful smile, we offer tooth whitening via two different systems to suit your requirements. Aycliffe Dentistry offers teeth whitening by professionals. Teeth whitening is a form of dentistry and should only be carried out by a dentist or another regulated dental professional, such as a dental hygienist or dental therapist, on the prescription of a dentist. Some beauty salons may offer teeth whitening, but this is illegal if there's no dental professional present, and it may put your oral health at risk. You can also buy DIY home teeth whitening kits but these may also carry risks.
Data Privacy
In providing your dental care and treatment, we will ask for information about you and your health. Occasionally, we may receive information from other providers who have been involved in providing your care. Our privacy notice describes the type of personal information we hold, why we hold it and what we do with it. Click on the link to view a copy of our Data Protection Privacy Notice for Patients.

Private treatment
The way we charge for Private Dentistry must now reflect the increase in costs for the equipment and materials we need to ensure patient and dental team safety. The costs also need to reflect the amount of extra time required to clean surgeries and reduced capacity necessitated by the measures we have to put in place to ensure social distancing. Shortly after we reopen we will be able to offer a limited amount of Private appointments.
